We’re excited to welcome a new provider to the Pro-Care family! Dr. Mikel Richter, DC, joins us to lead our Crownpoint (Northeast San Antonio) clinic serving patients with integrated care for their injuries sustained after an accident.
Get to know Dr. Richter:
What is your education and work background in this field?
- B.S. in Human Biology
- M.S. in Sport Science & Rehab with an emphasis in Nutrition & Human Performance
- Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.)
My work experience spans several years in practice, with a mix of private and group settings. I’ve worked in various areas, from family and wellness care to working with collegiate, professional, and Olympic athletes, as well as personal injury cases. Additionally, I spent over seven years as the clinical director for a provider group consisting of more than 250 doctors.
Do you have any awards or recognition in this field?
I have published several clinical practice guidelines on the evaluation and management of musculoskeletal injuries. I’ve also had the privilege of lecturing at continuing education courses and universities across the country.
What is your favorite part of the job?
Problem-solving. I enjoy piecing together all the factors to help patients recover as completely as possible after an injury.
What do you love most about working with patients?
Seeing patients get their lives back.
What is the best piece of health-related advice you’ve ever received?
“The cost of your good habits is in the present. The cost of your bad habits is in the future.”
How would you describe your personality?
Introverted, but I love one-on-one interactions with patients!
Do you have any niche interests or hobbies outside of work?
I enjoy weightlifting, reading, playing golf, and trying to keep up with my kids.

San Antonio has been an amazing place to raise a family.
